Ricardo Pereira and Jamie Vardy were out with injuries, so the space for other players to impress were there. James Justin slotted in, Steve Cooper also giving starts to Jordan Ayew and Bouba Soumare, moving Facundo Bounanotte out wide, placing Stephy Mavididi on the bench.
All the changes made sense and it looks solid and concrete from start, being able to keep Man Utd on their toes and in real playing an even game until Bruno Fernandez striked with a nice goal, coming from Leicester sloppiness. 1-0, 17 minutes played.
Man Utd showed their effectivness in the 34th minute, when Victor Kristiansen pushed the ball over the line after deflecting a Bruno Fernadez shot. Just before, Leicester had a nice chance to equalize, but Wilfred Ndidi was not able to get the ball passed Andre Onana.
Man Utd had a 2-0 lead when leaving the field after first half, and in all respect, football games is about scoring goals and creating chances, not playing the ball around in the mid circle, and that was what Leicester did, not really able to penetrate much. Abdul Fatawu is one that does it, one against one, but he is often missing and everything ends in nothing, he needs to step up.

The game was in real over, Man Utd controlling the happenings, Leicester having the ball, but again not able to test Andre Onana much. Ex Leicester man Jonny Evans entering the field in the 57th minute. Jordan Ayew has a bit of a chance after 69 minutes, but again it’s very soft.
Bilal El Khannouss is on for Wilfred Ndidi in the 70th minute, 8 minutes later another player who had come in from the subs bench, Alajandro Garnacho scores for Man Utd, with a flying shot up in the right corner. Another quality stamp and the major gap between the two team today, effectivity.
Leicester also gives minutes to Kasey McAteer, replacing James Justin, Odsonne Eduoard, coming on for Jordan Ayew, but it was not a day for Leicester this time, continuing their bad run away at Old Trafford.
- Positives
- In play we look good, and at times superior in play away
- Abdul Fatawu trying, Jordan Ayew also with attempts
- Negatives
- Not able to penetrate and create chances out of play in possession
- Sloppiness in both boxes, resulting in Man Utd scoring 3, Leicester 0
- Victor Kristiansen must be given a rest, he looks lost against pacy wingers
- Not able to play up in a pattern change without Jamie Vardy
