A few days ago, a report revealed that Paris Saint-Germain newcomer Désiré Doué is disappointed with how his first few months in the French capital have gone after he joined the current Ligue 1 champions this past summer.
Doué made the €50 million switch to the Parc des Princes from Stade Rennais after rejecting interest from Bayern Munich. Remaining in Ligue 1 and taking another step in his young career was an ideal decision for the Frenchman.
It’s still the early days for the French youth international at PSG, but he has yet to meet expectations. According to L’Équipe, Doué feels “disappointed” and “frustrated” with how things have gone so far.
Despite this, the club isn’t concerned, and manager Luis Enrique views the midfielder as a key player for the future.
Désiré Doué attracts interest from the Premier League
Anfield Watch reported on Thursday that Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Doué. Moreover, the information reveals that the Reds are long-term admirers of the 19-year-old attacking prospect.
Liverpool won’t be able to pull off this deal easily. However, if Doué continues to struggle for game time at PSG throughout the season, the young talent could be eager to move on next summer.
Additionally, the Manuel Ugarte transfer highlighted that PSG aren’t hesitant to part ways with a player when things aren’t clicking.
