Leny Yoro is reportedly privately targeting Manchester United‘s fixture against Arsenal on 4 December as his ideal return to the starting line-up.
Yoro, an 18-year-old summer signing from Lille costing €70 million, has been sidelined since pre-season following a fractured metatarsal.
The injury was sustained in the first half of United’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in a pre-season match in Los Angeles, a cruel blow that has seen the promising defender unable to make his official debut for Manchester United. After undergoing surgery in early August, Yoro was initially ruled out for around three months.
Although Yoro is eyeing the clash with Arsenal for his return to United’s starting line-up, it is possible that he could see action earlier, given Manchester United’s packed fixture list before the key London trip.
United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, takes charge of his first game against Ipswich Town this weekend, away from home, followed another away match against Bodo/Glimt before returning to Old Trafford to play Everton.
The Ipswich clash marks an intriguing contest for United, with the Tractor Boys hoping to replicate their shock victory over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium prior to the international break.
