Welcome to another edition of A Look at the Month Ahead —-
Tottenham Hotspur men:
It’s strange typing this after an eight-day stretch in which Tottenham Hotspur played three game: This month is one jam-packed month.
We’re already one game into it, in fact. That Fulham game.
But there’s still eight more beginning with a game on Thursday against Bournemouth. A Premier League game on a Thursday sounds pretty odd, and it kinda is. Especially one so early in December. And it isn’t even as if Tottenham have games in hand.
After that, it’s going to be a gruelling festive fixture period featuring a London Derby, a new-look Manchester United, Rangers away, top-of-the-table Liverpool and a surprisingly strong Nottingham Forest side.
With all the injuries Spurs already have on the docket, it’s looking like a long month (but I think at a certain point we all wish the holidays could last longer, right?).
For those of you looking forward to Boxing Day already, why that’ll be an away fixture against Nuno Espiritu Santo’s Forest.
Tottenham Hotspur men’s schedule: at Bournemouth (5 Dec), Chelsea (8 Dec), at Rangers (EL, 12 Dec), at Southampton (15 Dec), Man U (EFL Cup, 19 Dec), Liverpool (22 Dec), Forest (26 Dec), Wolves (29 Dec)
Tottenham Hotspur women:
Just three matches this month: Everton, Palace and Brighton. Spurs picked up a solid win over Rachel Daly and Aston Villa last weekend.
This season isn’t shaping up to be much of an improvement on last year, and I’m not sure why. But Brighton have impresses, a lot, and they’ll be a tough opponent on 14 December.
Other than that, Tottenham play palace in the third round of WSL Group play. One point would see them advance to the knockouts.
Tottenham Hotspur women’s schedule: Everton (8 Dec), at Palace (WSL Cup, 11 Dec), at Brighton (14 Dec)
Fitzie’s track of the day: Last Christmas, by Wham!
