West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui is being tormented by a variety of different problems right now, and Jean-Clair Todibo has just added to his woes.
Julen Lopetegui brought Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham from Nice in the summer, after Tim Steidten flew his jet out to France and hijacked Juventus’s move to sign him.
However, it hasn’t been an easy transition for Todibo at the London Stadium so far.
The 24-year-old has struggled to adapt to the pace and intensity of Premier League football.
There have been slight recent improvements, but he’s still a long way off the levels that are required to succeed at the top of the English game in my opinion.
I must say, it concerned me when it was alleged that Todibo was forced into joining the Hammers instead of Juve.
And now it seems like the Frenchman is causing big problems behind the scenes.
Jean-Clair Todibo twist rubs salt into wounds of Julen Lopetegui
The 24-year-old centre-back missed our clash with Leicester City on Tuesday night through a supposed ‘injury’.
We called it right here on Hammers News just before the Leicester game that something wasn’t adding up.
Now it’s clear to see that we were absolutely spot on.
That’s because the Daily Mail are reporting that Todibo and Lopetegui were involved in an intense row during the half-time break of our clash with Arsenal last weekend.
The pair were allegedly ’embroiled in an intense verbal dispute’ during the half-time interval.
It’s very clear to see that tensions are running high at the London Stadium right now, and all is not well behind closed doors.
It has actually been suggested that the dressing room is not a happy one, and that doesn’t surprise me one little bit.
The end is nigh for Lopetegui, I have absolutely no doubts about that.
The 58-year-old has failed to deliver since moving to the London Stadium in the summer.
However, his players have let him down badly as well.
And the fall-out between Jean-Clair Todibo and Lopetegui during the half-time break against Arsenal is symptomatic of our problems right now.
