Manchester City look to get their first win in eight games as they host Nottingham Forest on Wednesday 4 December.
Pep Guardiola has been trying to figure out what has been going wrong at the Etihad as his side now sit 11 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool after their 2-0 defeat to the Reds at Anfield.
They face a Nottingham Forest side who come off the back of a 1-0 win against Ipswich Town in which in-form striker Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are sixth in the league and have the second-best defensive record in the Premier League. They are just one point behind City in the table.
Manchester City’s current injury woes are slowly improving as John Stones could make a return against Forest, he is currently being assessed.
However, Oscar Bobb, Mateo Kovacic and Rodri remain out injured for the game at the Etihad meaning Pep Guardiola will have to look elsewhere in his starting XI.
It will be a game that feels a must win at home for City as they aim to keep their title fight alive against high-flying Liverpool.
City backed to beat Forest despite poor recent form
It feels a difficult game to predict as we don’t know what we are going to see from Guardiola’s side on Wednesday night, however the bookies have them as heavy favourites.
According to Oddschecker, City are 4/11 favourites to win which gives them a 73.3% chance of getting their first win in eight games.
Meanwhile, Forest are backed to win at odds of 17/2 (10.5%) and a draw is backed at 9/2 (18.2%). We predict a 3-1 win for City in a game where Guardiola’s side get back to their best at home.
