The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Blues and has revealed how highly he regards his former West Ham coach
Tomas Soucek and David Moyes were a match made in heaven at West Ham United. And it would appear there remains plenty of good will on either side after Saturday’s 1-1 draw between the Hammers and Everton.
Soucek continued his excellent goalscoring form at Goodison Park when he put West Ham 1-0 in front, only for a last-gasp equaliser from Jake O’Brien to earn the Blues a share of the points.
The Czech Republic midfielder has been a terrific player for the London club since Moyes signed him, offering a physical presence and a frequent supply of goals. Soucek was crucial to West Ham’s historic Europa Conference League success under Moyes too.

Speaking after being awarded with his Czech Footballer of the Year prize, Soucek admitted both men were caught up in the emotion of Saturday’s dramatic game, but was adamant the duo would always have an excellent personal relationship.
“Very pleasant, in the end for both of us,” said Soucek when asked about meeting up with Moyes again, per IDNES (h/t Sport Witness).
“I scored a goal, and I can imagine how crazy he was, but they equalised in the 90th minute, and I was the one who went crazy. We were both happy and a little angry at the end.
“We had a great trip together to West Ham; he brought me there and I thank him very much for that. We have a good relationship, and I think that whenever we meet, we can easily go for a beer.”
Soucek is now into his fifth year as a West Ham player, having been brought to the club by Moyes in 2020. He has scored an impressive 32 goals in 207 appearances in all competitions, operating as both an attacking and defensive midfielder at times.
Moyes had two spells with West Ham and was twice able to pull the club clear from relegation trouble. In his second stint he earned a record points total in his second season, reached the Europa League semi-finals in his third and in his fourth won the Conference League.
The Scot’s contract was not renewed by the Hammers at the end of last season, that despite a ninth-place finish and a Europa League quarter-final run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Soucek has been linked with a move to Everton in recent weeks. The 30-year-old’s current deal with West Ham is set to expire in 2027.
