West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta is currently going through a trial, after being accused of potential betting breaches.
There have been plenty of twists and turns for Lucas Paqueta since the investigation into his alleged misdemeanours began.
Back when David Moyes was in charge of West Ham, Paqueta was accused of purposely picking up yellow cards on four separate occasions.
It has since been claimed that the West Ham owners fear Lucas Paqueta could receive a lifetime ban if he’s proven guilty of the charges he faces.
It didn’t help that West Ham star Lucas Paqueta failed to hand over his phone to the FA for a second time, because had already disposed of it.
The fact that the investigation has gone on for 19 months now is a big concern.
Would the FA really be pushing this if there wasn’t even a shred of evidence that Paqueta was guilty?
The good thing is that we should get an answer one way or another very shortly.
West Ham fans react as major Lucas Paqueta update emerges
Lucas Paqueta’s FA trial over spot-fixing allegations is underway.
The trial expected to last around three weeks, although it could be over sooner.
There is genuine concern that we could lose the Brazilian for a very long time, if he is found guilty.
Yesterday, it came to light that David Moyes had agreed to act as a witness in Lucas Paqueta’s defence (Daily Mail).
And numerous West Ham fans took to social media to praise our former gaffer for taking the time to support Lucas.
One Hammers fan simply said, “A class act through and through.“
Meanwhile, a second West Ham supporter said, “I love this guy.“
Whilst a third took to X and said, “Nice one Mr Moyes.“
A fourth West Ham fan commented, “Love this. Whatever the vocal minority may say, we all love you Moyesey.“

A fifth suggested that Moyes has shown his true class by acting as a witness for Paqueta, “This is absolutely incredible imo from Moysie. It’d be a bit different if he was out of work but for him to take on this when in truth the outcome has very little to do with him or Everton is remarkable. A measure of the man manager he is and of his love for West Ham.“
A sixth Hammers fan said, “Legend. Even after he’s left, he’s helping us. You could never make me hate him.“
Whilst a seventh commented on how Moyes was too good for us:
David Moyes shows his true colours with Lucas Paqueta backing
Say what you want about Moyes, but he always acted with West Ham’s best interests at heart.
And it’s obvious to see now that the Hammers and our players still mean a lot to the Scot.
Let’s not forget, he’s the manager of Everton now. It’s not as if he doesn’t have anything better to do!
Quite how David Moyes will help Lucas Paqueta during his trial for alleged betting breach offences remains to be seen.
However, the mere fact that he’s helping out the Brazilian says a lot about the former Hammers boss as a man.
