For a while under Julen Lopetegui the ‘Inside Rush Green’ training videos produced by West Ham were banned. I don’t know whether it was at J’Lo’s direction or whether the marketing department simply couldn’t face trying to edit together enough ‘upbeat’ images to release, but for a while the Hammers were video ‘silent’ as Lopetegui’s tenure headed to its inevitable end game.
However, three months later and it is all smiles again with training videos released weekly it seems, showing the squad hard at work using the international break to build and develop the head coach’s plans. Immediately evident are two standout positives for West Ham watchers:
Niclas Fullkrug is most definitely ‘back’. Fit, firing, and even goal-scoring in one edit, Fullkrug takes part in the ‘full contact ‘training and looks lean and sharp. With another week and a half before the Hammers take on Wolves it would be a fair assumption to say he’ll be taking part in some capacity which is very welcome news for Graham Potter.
Secondly, and after the scare at the end of of the Everyton draw when he limped off to be replaced by Mavropamnos, Jean-Clair Todibno has no ill effects and is back in full training, featured throughout this afternoon’s video. Which is a double ‘plus’ for Potter who’d no doubt be as worried as the rest of us that MKonstantinos Mavropanos might be needed in Todibo’s place – especially as the Hammers #25 has a ropey injury record this season and was just cementing his place at the back alongside Max Kilman.
So, scare over, Todibo looks a shoe-in for the Wolves game at Molineux on 1st April.
