Graham Potter pushed incredibly hard to bring Evan Ferguson to West Ham United in the January transfer window.
However, things haven’t worked out whatsoever for either party, and now it’s highly unlikely that West Ham will sign Evan Ferguson on a permanent deal in the summer.
Now a new claim has emerged that doesn’t bode well for our future deals either.
Graham Potter is clearly a huge fan of Evan Ferguson, and much was expected of him when he moved to the London Stadium.
However, the 20-year-old striker has barely played for West Ham so far.
He’s been given just 92 minutes of action in fact, with zero starts.
That’s the problem with easing players into action too slowly – it’s very hard to get up to speed when you’re given 10 or 15 minute cameos here and there.
Concerning Evan Ferguson twist shines spotlight on Graham Potter
Potter has handled Ferguson really poorly in my opinion.
When he was signed, the Hammers were in absolutely no danger of relegation, nor did we have a chance of qualifying for Europe.
Potter played things too safe with the Republic of Ireland striker when he had absolutely nothing to lose.
Now his man management of Ferguson has backfired badly.
According to Claret and Hugh, Brighton are not at all happy with the Hammers regarding Ferguson’s lack of game-time.
That will obviously be damaging to the Hammers’ hopes of signing him again in the summer.

But also, the fact that C&H are reporting that means that the West Ham owners are not happy at all about Potter’s usage of Ferguson.
And I don’t blame them one little bit.
Graham Potter has Ferguson alternative lined up
It’s looking more and more unlikely that the Hammers will sign the Irishman with every week that passes.
And Potter is said to be lining up a move to bring Moise Kean to West Ham instead.
Kean would be a very exciting addition for the Hammers, but his struggles in the Premier League previously with Everton will be a big concern.
As things stand, it looks like Graham Potter won’t be able to bring Evan Ferguson to West Ham on a permanent deal this summer.
If I’m being honest though, I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
