Tottenham Hotspur are willing to offload Yves Bissouma this summer amid Aston Villa interest
Tottenham Hotspur are anticipating a busy summer transfer window after an underwhelming 2024/25 season.
The club chiefs have to offload some underperforming players and free up their wage bill in the summer to make new additions to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. After a torrid, mentally and physically taxing campaign, it is obvious that they would look to make some radical changes to the squad and back the gaffer.
Spurs are reportedly considering offers for Yves Bissouma as he is on course to enter the final year of his contract. The Mali international has struggled to maintain the standards and consistency levels at White Hart Lane since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022—both on and off the pitch—the Lilywhites want to cash him in this summer.
Yves Bissouma is a Premier League-proven commodity and it is not surprising that clubs across the division would be interested in securing his services if made available for transfer. According to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Aston Villa could make a move for the Tottenham midfielder.
Bissouma has offers from England and France, where he previously enjoyed success with LOSC Lille before Brighton snapped him up. Aston Villa want to sign the African enforcer as they look to establish themselves as regular contenders for European football.
Unai Emery has already this season that he is able to rejuvenate the careers of players who are struggling with form. Both Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are great examples, as they have been excellent since arriving at Villa Park on loan from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.

Perhaps, Emery wants to create a similar trick by signing Bissouma on a cut-price deal, with Tottenham willing to sell him after Ange Postecoglou has grown frustrated with the central midfielder’s underwhelming displays this season. The Mali star has also had a few injury issues, adding to his lack of consistency in performance levels.
More Tottenham Hotspur News:
Postecoglou prefers the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and James Maddison in the middle of the park, and that coupled with Bissouma set to enter the final year of his contract on July 1 (Transfermarkt), means Aston Villa could take advantage of the situation. Plus, the Villans are in a good position to qualify for Europe again, which should be tempting for Bissouma rather than returning to France.
That being said, Tottenham must try to get a decent fee from Villa for Bissouma, who is not a part of Postecoglou or our club’s plans going forward.
