Manchester City would be prepared to sell Jack Grealish for £40m, according to reports.
The Mirror (via Sportsview.co.uk) say that AC Milan are willing to take the forward either on loan or on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
It is believed that the Rossoneri are willing to pay around £40m to secure Grealish’s signature, which is a fee that the Cityzens would accept.
Considering that Pep Guardiola’s side signed the England international for £100m in the summer of 2021, the club would be making a massive loss on the player.
What has gone wrong for Grealish?
After excelling during the treble-winning season, the 29-year-old’s form has deteriorated over the past 20 months. Injuries have played their part but it is clear that Guardiola no longer trusts him to start games.
Grealish (who earns £300,000 a week) was last named in the starting eleven for a Premier League fixture against his former club Aston Villa all the way back on December 21st. He has been an unused substitute in 7 of the last 10 matches he has been selected for.
Milan are not the only team pursuing the City winger
It has been reported by reliable sources in recent days that Newcastle are interested in bringing Grealish to St James’ Park.
The Magpies are not believed to be the England international’s only option if he wants to remain in England either. Villa and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest.
By the looks of things, Grealish time at the Etihad is almost up, but he is unlikely to be the only high-profile departure from City over the coming weeks. Reports suggest that Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ederson, Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic and llkay Gundogan could also be allowed to leave.
