Tottenham have been issued a warning by Real Madrid regarding Nico Paz’s future
Tottenham Hotspur have been having a horrid season in the Premier League this time. The Lilywhites have been nowhere near good enough to be competing for the league or its top four places after recording 15 losses in 29 league games. The only positive of this season has been the progress made in the UEFA Europa League, as Ange Postecoglou’s side have reached the quarter-final of the competition.
Spurs have been hit with an injury crisis and that has seriously impacted the performance on the pitch throughout the season. Lack of squad depth and players underperforming have also been one of the major worries for Tottenham manager Ange and the coming summer is looking to be one of the most important transfer windows in recent years.
Gone are the days when the Lilywhites used to have players like Luka Modric, Dele Alli and Moussa Dembele don the white jersey. Now, all Spurs fans can do is reminisce about the quality of the players their side used to have and hope such kind of players join the club in the near future. Tottenham fans will also hoping that the club hierarchy make some impactful signings without spending too much in the market.
Como star Nico Paz to snub Tottenham?
Como have been performing above expectations this season under Cesc Fabregas. The Italian side have been grinding out results and they also have a very talented squad that can survive the relegation fight. One of the standout players in the squad has been ex-Real Madrid midfielder Nico Paz. The 20-year-old has been brilliant to watch and has helped Como climb up to 13th in the Serie A, seven points above the relegation zone.
According to TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur has been one of several clubs that has been keeping an eye on the progress made by Argentina international. But the report also suggests that Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the young talent as they have a buy-back clause and the player himself wants to prove his worth at Real Madrid.
This is surely a blow for Spurs as he would have been a perfect player for Ange Postecoglou. As per Sofascore, Paz has scored six goals and provided six assists in 27 games in all competitions this season for Como. TBR Football had also reported earlier that Paz is valued at over £50 million by Como, and this makes it difficult for Spurs to negotiate a deal.
