Aaron Lennon impressed by Tottenham teenager Mikey Moore
Tottenham Hotspur fans get a smile on their face as soon as someone talks about their former favourite, Aaron Lennon. The former England international was a complete sensation during his time at N17 and was one of the paciest wingers in the Premier League in the early 2000s.
Lennon was known for running up down the right wing and terrorising the defence with his dribbling and explosive pace. The winger burst onto the scene at just 16 years old for Leeds United, making his debut against Spurs. The former Tottenham hero made 364 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 30 goals and providing 76 assists in that time.
He was also part of the team that won the last major trophy for the Lilywhites in 2008. Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-1 in the final of the Carabao Cup and that was the last time Spurs fans saw their team win silverware. Lennon was adored by the White Hart Lane faithful and remains a popular figure among the club’s fans.
Aaron Lennon has some advice for Tottenham teen
Lennon knows a thing or two about bursting onto the scene. The former England international made his senior debut at just 16-year-old and the winger instantly made a name for himself and earned a big move to Tottenham Hotspur. The same can be said about teenage sensation Mikey Moore.
Moore made his senior debut for Spurs at just 16 years old against Manchester City this season. The teenager has been quite impactful for Ange Postecoglou’s side and has become a regular part of the matchday squad as well. Spurs fans might be reminded of Lennon every time they see Mikey Moore don the Lilywhite at N17. Both are pacey wingers and both love to dribble.
Aaron Lennon had some words of advice for Mikey Moore, after being in the same shoes as the current teen sensation. Lennon told Spurs Web,
“Listen to the senior lads around you, listen to the manager, go in there and work hard every day to keep improving your game. Enjoy it, is one of the main things. I love watching him, he’s a real talent. And also, he’s got to be patient.”

The ex-Spurs winger then added,
“He’s had little bits of involvement but being around the first team is only going to make him a better player. So, take so much information off the senior lads – Sonny and the other wide players – the manager too. Take it all in and use it, then go out there, enjoy it, and express yourself because he’s a phenomenal, phenomenal talent.”
Mikey Moore has been a revelation
Tottenham Hotspur can be proud of producing a gem from their academy. Mikey Moore has been utterly brilliant for Spurs this season and has risen to the occasion for Ange Postecoglou. The Lilywhites are in the bottom half of the Premier League this season and injury issues have led the manager to trust young players on several occasions.
As per Sofascore, the 17-year-old has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in that time. The England U-19 international has gained some valuable game time and has been in and around the matchday squad for quite some time.
