West Ham midfielder Freddie Potts has signed a new long-term contract with the club, as revealed by trusted insider ExWHUEmployee.
The highly-rated Academy graduate is currently thriving on loan at Championship side Portsmouth, where he’s become a vital part of their midfield.
Reporting via The West Ham Way Patreon, Ex confirmed the breakthrough news: “We are delighted to confirm that talented midfield player Freddie Potts has signed a new long-term contract at the club.”
Claret & Hugh has since spoken to a senior source within the London Stadium who told us: “He’ll be assessed in pre-season. He needs to improve for our team, but he has a real chance.”
When asked whether the son of club legend Steve Potts would get an opportunity under West Ham boss Graham Potter, the source added: “He’ll be back with the group for the start of pre-season. Such a pity we’re not in Europe—it helped the youngsters get games and it was fabulous for all supporters.”
Potts has delivered a string of standout performances for Pompey this season, earning multiple Man of the Match awards. That follows on from his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers last term, where he was named Player of the Season.
