AC Milan planning to revive their interest in Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin
Radu Dragusin has had a tough time at Tottenham Hotspur ever since he arrived from Genoa during the 2024 winter transfer window.
The Romanian international had to be patient for his opportunities during the second half of last season with Ange Postecoglou continuing with Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven as his first-choice centre-back pairing. Injuries to both Romero and Van de Ven this season opened up opportunities for the 23-year-old.
Radu Dragusin made 28 appearances across all competitions before unfortunately sustaining a season-ending ACL rupture during a Europa League game against IF Elfsborg in January. Perhaps due to the constant chopping and changing of partners at the back, he struggled to impose his authority in games and grab the opportunities that came his way during the injury absences of Romero and Van de Ven.
Spurs signed Kevin Danso on loan from RC Lens with a buy obligation in the wake of Dragusin’s season-ending injury during the past January transfer window. Danso has made an immediate impact at the club, becoming a crowd favourite with his proactive and aggressive style of defending. This spells bad news for Dragusin as he has now fallen further down the pecking order as he was already behind the likes of Romero and Van de Ven.
That is why the possibility of the Romanian leaving Tottenham at the end of the season is emerging as a serious option. According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Dragusin is ‘ever closer’ to departing Spurs and returning to Serie A. AC Milan are planning to revive their interest in the Bucharest-born talent but could face competition from Serie A rivals Napoli.
Dragusin was heavily linked with a move to Napoli during the January transfer window. But Napoli never made a concrete move for him and a deal did not happen. Antonio Conte’s club are still pursuing the defender, who is valued at around €30m. The price tag set by Tottenham, though, may not stop AC Milan from pursuing the 23-year-old.

The aforementioned report adds Milan have a ‘surprise’ card up their sleeve. They could return to the negotiating table for Dragusin by proposing a swap deal with Fikayo Tomori. Spurs may attempt to make a new approach for the Milan defender after failing to land him in January.
Fikayo Tomori rejected a move to White Hart Lane during the 2025 transfer intervals. However, the England international is prepared to return to the Premier League ahead of next season, with even a move to Tottenham not ruled out. Now, the North Londoners are planning to make a fresh move to sign the ex-Chelsea man.

Dragusin has not quite adapted to the demands of Premier League football and is now ruled out for the foreseeable future. The Romanian is eyeing a return to Serie A, and if Spurs and Milan could thrash out a swap deal involving him and Tomori, it would be a great move for all parties involved here.
