Tottenham Hotspur are one to watch in the race to sign LOSC Lille midfielder Angel Gomes
Tottenham Hotspur have endured an extremely poor campaign and will need to make significant signings in the upcoming summer transfer market to at least compete for the top-four spot in the next term.
The North Londoners are seemingly planning to bolster their squad by recruiting a new central midfielder, as evidenced by their reported interest in LOSC Lille star Angel Gomes. The 24-year-old. who has made 134 appearances for LOSC Lille since moving from Manchester United back in 2020, is out of contract at the end of June. He will leave Les Dogues on a free transfer, having already decided not to extend his stay.
As a result, plenty of clubs across Europe have been keen on signing Angel Gomes on a potential free transfer. Tottenham are one of those clubs, with his performances for both club and country over recent years demonstrating the potential he possesses.
GIVEMESPORT chief correspondent Ben Jacobs has now dropped the latest update on Gomes’ future amid links with Tottenham. He says Spurs’ firmly remain interested and could thrash out a quick summer deal with the midfielder on a free transfer, with Manchester United and West Ham United also in the mix for his services.
“I would expect that Gomes will be a transfer we see resolved quite quickly into the summer window, if not pre-agreed before it,” Ben Jacobs exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.
“So keep an eye on Spurs. Obviously, we know West Ham are there, but have low confidence of success, and don’t rule out Manchester United entering the race to try and re-sign Gomes.
“But I think at the end of all the offers that he receives, it will be a surprise if we see Gomes outside the Premier League next season.”

Gomes has been a prime target for Spurs for months now, especially because he is on course to become a free agent at the end of the season. West Ham and Man United also remain keen, but the Lilywhites are the ones to watch out for, with Daniel Levy personally interested in landing the diminutive, creative midfielder. His homegrown status is also a factor that entices Levy and Spurs.

Earlier this week, Jacobs also gave an encouraging update for Spurs and their fans by revealing that a lack of European football will be no bar in their pursuit of the Lille ace. There is a growing belief now that Tottenham could pre-agree a move for the Edmonton-born talent, who appears keen on returning to the Premier League.
The North London outfit have made their advances to sign Gomes. It will be interesting to watch whether we can snap him up quickly.
