Graham Potter has been dealt a big blow on Tuesday with the news that Newcastle United could be about to scupper one of West Ham United’s key summer plans.
West Ham face a hugely important summer transfer window ahead, as do Newcastle.
Graham Potter and Eddie Howe both need to significantly strengthen their squads at the London Stadium and St James’ Park respectively.
Potter is desperate to add more dynamism and youth to his West Ham ranks.
Out of all the positions that need strengthening, centre-forward is probably the one in most urgent need of attention.
And now the Hammers and the Magpies could be set to go head-to-head for the same striker this summer.
Newcastle move to hijack West Ham deal for Moise Kean
Moise Kean is up for grabs this summer it seems.
West Ham have been linked with a move to sign Moise Kean from Fiorentina, with his release clause set at £43 million.
The former Everton striker, 25, has been in fine form out in Italy this season.
He has bagged 20 goals and three assists in 34 games for Fiorentina so far this term (Transfermarkt).
Kean is a real powerhouse of a striker, and finally seems to have fulfilled his outstanding potential with La Viola.

He’d be perfect for Potter’s system, given his strength, pace and finishing ability.
West Ham board concerned by Potter’s handling of Evan Ferguson
The Hammers are said to be eyeing a move for Kean because it’s unlikely that Evan Ferguson will be signed permanently in the summer.
And it has been claimed that the Hammers board are slightly perturbed by the way that Potter has eased Ferguson into action far too slowly.
That’s because Brighton are unhappy at the lack of minutes the 20-year-old striker has been given.
With a deal for Ferguson looking unlikely now, getting the Moise Kean signing over the line could be crucial for West Ham this summer.
However, Newcastle appear to be ready to throw a real spanner in the works for us.
