In the news today and reportedly unhappy that West Ham didn’t entertain the offer from Fulham at the end of the January transfer window, Vladimir Coufal has provided some pretty straight talking over his future plans which leave little room for doubt.
Coufal’s contract expires at West Ham at the end of this season, and the Czech warhorse is reported in everton.news as making his position pretty clear. as soon as his contract expires, Coufal seems to have made his mind up already as to where his plans lie:
“When I am free, anything can happen. But my priority is England, the best league in the world. I want to prove to myself week after week that I have what it takes.”
With all respect to Coufal who has been a brilliant servant, I suspect the time has come to wake up and smell the coffee – his days of performing week in, week out in the Premier League are probably behind him.
Which means in any case he’ll be looking at another Premier League side- just about the only club where he’ll feel at home will be with the much-heralded reunion with the manager who brought him to England in 2020, David Moyes now at Everton.
Since Coufal is unlikely to sign a new contract even if it is offered at West Ham, June will be’ sayonara’ time for Coufal after a distinguished career in Claret and Blue.
