Man United are looking at Moussa Diaby as a potential signing this summer.
Manchester United Football Club have several gaps within the squad. All of those need filling during this summer transfer window, if at all possible.
Erik ten Hag has eyes scouring Europe to find the best players at the right price. Several names have been linked. The latest? Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen.
The versatile attacker is on United’s radar, according to Fichajes. Their bold claim starts with the headline, claiming that the 23-year-old is Ten Hag’s ‘favourite’ choice to replace Anthony Martial.
Their byline claims that Diaby is one of United’s ‘big targets’ ahead of the 2023/24 season.
It’s stated that Martial’s head is now on the chopping block after a poor time under Ten Hag, following a big move to United almost a decade ago. Now, he wants to replace the ex-AS Monaco man with another Frenchman in the form of Diaby.
The young attacker is beginning to attract attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, forcing United to ‘be fast’ in the transfer market, and negotiate a deal to sign Diaby ‘as soon as possible’.
Real Madrid and PSG are both credited with an interest in the forward, which tells you everything you need to know about his talent.
Diaby is an impressive young man, who can play on either flank or up top if possible. I’ve always believed he’s better out wide due to his slight stature, rather than a striker – which is where he’d play if he’s replacing Martial.
His biggest asset is the sheer speed. Diaby is someone who’d thrive in this system, which often leaves opposing defences with wide gaps at the back. Again, though, he can do that job from a wide position rather than directly through the middle.
