Jumped the (tattoo) gun? Man City fan gets a huge Treble-winners inking on his leg to commemorate winning all three major trophies… but they still need to win the Champions League first!
- The supporter got a tattoo proclaiming City as treble winners days before final
- City are heavily favoured in Saturday’s Champions League final against Inter
- Victory over Inter Milan would secure an historic Treble for Guardiola’s side
A Manchester City fan has got themselves inked with a treble-winning tattoo days before the club’s Champions League final against Inter Milan on Saturday night.
City are biding to become only the second English team to complete the remarkable feat after claiming their third successive Premier League title and winning the FA Cup against Manchester United last weekend.
Saturday’s 2-1 win over their bitter rivals appeared to give the fan enough confidence to get the artwork done on his left leg that depicts the City badge surrounded by all three trophies and an inscription that reads: ‘Treble Winners 2023.’
A video showing off the tattoo surfaced on Wednesday, sparking reactions from onlookers fearing – or hoping – for the worst.
One TikTok user wrote: ‘You’ve made Inter win now.’ Another said: ‘Embarrassing if you don’t win the UCL’, while a third, presumably more realistic City fan wrote: ‘I’m confident too but not that confident lol, fair play though cmon city!!!’
The confident City fan opted to out their leg on the line and back their club ahead of the final

Pep Guardiola’s men go into Saturday’s final in Istanbul with the weight of expectation on their shoulders.
Despite their incredible season, failure to win the club’s maiden Champions League will invite even more consternation than their 2021 final loss to Chelsea.
Speaking to reporters this week ahead of the game, Guardiola admitted his side go into the tie as favourites and accepted they’ll be little support from neutrals watching the event.
‘Listen, when you are at this stage, not all the people around the world wants you to win,’ said Guardiola. ‘I am sure there are a lot of people in Italy who want Inter and the others don’t. That’s football with rivalry.
‘People who like us will for sure but the other ones… it doesn’t matter if they want Inter Milan.
‘With our club, I’ve learnt that overexcitement doesn’t suit us,’ he said. ‘So many clubs have destroyed projects and ideas because they weren’t able to win this competition, and so many have become big clubs because they were able to win it.
‘Even if I don’t share this opinion, I understand that everything we have done through all these years, which has been a lot and very good, will make sense to others if we win this competition.
‘If we don’t win it, then things will seem to make less sense. It’s a bit unfair, but we must accept it. That’s how it is.’
City’s camp are unlikely to be as confident as the inked-up supporter as they aim to emulate Man United’s Treble-winning squad of 1999.
