Man United are looking at making a move to sign midfielder, Felix Nmecha.
Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign a midfielder this summer, with several names thrown into the ring already. Mason Mount has been the name that has popped up the most.
Erik ten Hag, being the meticulous planner that he is, will have backup options. Over the last 24 hours, the latest name being mentioned by the media in regard to a potential United move is Wolfburg’s Felix Nmecha.
It’s Sport1 with the claim, with thanks to Sport Witness for the translation. The article is actually about Borussia Dortmund’s search for a midfielder as they look to replace Jude Bellingham – though United get a mention.
Dortmund are showing an interest in Nmecha, though they’ll face competition from the Old Trafford club.
According to the report, United have ‘thrown their hat into the ring’ for the signing of the 22-year-old midfielder.
The midfielder recently split with his agent, with United apparently speaking to the player’s father about a possible transfer. There’s also a chance that Nmecha will be available for a reduced fee, due to the fact he only has one year left on his contract.
It’s claimed that the young man could cost as little as £13m, though we could well expect that figure to rise now that United’s name is involved.
For such a cheap price, it’s worth moving for the ex-Manchester City midfielder, who already has an international cap for Germany. This could turn out to be an astute piece of business, though beating Dortmund (and others) to his signature will likely be tough.
