Man United youngster, Di’Shon Bernard, has confirmed he has been released by the club.
While among supporters, all the talk is about potential new signings and club ownership, some players will be leaving the club. Manchester United always have the hottest talents, so it’s often disappointing when some leave.
Di’Shon Bernard certainly falls into that bracket. the young defender, who is highly rated by the Red Devils, hasn’t really been given an opportunity at the first-team level.
He’s spent large portions of his young career away on loan. A move to Portsmouth being his latest venture.
However yesterday, the 22-year-old took to social media to confirm he has been released by United, sending a heartfelt message to the club and fans as his time at Old Trafford draws to a close.
Bernard will now look to take that next step. The defender, of Jamaican descent, will have to choose his next club wisely as this can be the make-or-break portion of any young player’s career.
The now ex-Red has to choose the right situation. Preferably somewhere that will allow him to start games with regularity as he looks to build up the confidence levels, while also gaining the vital minutes that’ll allow him to develop further.
Bernard is the sort of player that United could end up regret letting leave, though they’ve made too many mistakes when it comes to giving players big-money contracts too early.
No doubt the Red Devils will be keeping an eye on Bernard’s development from afar, keeping alive the slim hopes of a potential Old Trafford return in the future.
best of luck, Di’Shon!
