The summer transfer window will be busy for Bayern Munich when it comes to departures. The fringe players in the first team will leave to make space for new signings. Bayern will also assess the future of young players that will be returning from loan spells.
Malik Tillman was already spotted at Sabner Strasse a few days ago as he continues recovering from a hamstring injury. He has been on the side-lines for Rangers since the start of May after getting injured against Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup. The promising loan spell in Scotland is helping Tillman to attract interest from several other clubs this summer.
According to Daily Mail, Brighton and Brentford are interested in signing Tillman during the summer transfer window. Rangers have the option of signing Tillman permanently for 5 million, but Bayern will look to get a bigger fee from Premier League clubs instead of agreeing a deal with Rangers.
Tillman had a prolific campaign with the Rangers. The youngster scored 12 goals for the Scottish side across all competitions. He also provided four assists in the Scottish Premiership. The 21-year-old was named Scotland PFA young players of the Season due to his impressive performances with Rangers.
The youngster largely played as a number ten or second striker at Rangers. He also featured for USA’s senior team during last season. Tillman opted to represent the USA at the international level despite having the chance to play for Germany.
Tillman currently has one year left on his contract at Bayern. After playing regularly at the senior level last season, the 21-year-old forward cannot stay at Die Roten. He will struggle to get opportunities in the first team since several senior players in the squad play in his position.
From Bayern’s perspective, they can pocket a good transfer fee for Malik Tillman after a successful loan spell. The Bavarian club should definitely look to insert a buy-back clause in the deal since Tillman is expected to become a good player if he plays regularly.

Rangers remain hopeful about signing the youngster permanently, but they will find it difficult to compete with Premier League clubs. It remains to be seen whether Tillman is prioritising a move back to Rangers over other clubs after a successful season. In an ideal scenario, Bayern ends up getting a fee close to €12 million (£10 million) for the 21-year-old forward. It does look certain that Tillman’s future remains away from Bavaria.
