Man United have added Mohammed Kudus to their list of potential midfield options.
Manchester United’s move for Mason Mount has been well-documented. We’ve been covering every update in that saga, no matter how minuscule, here at Old Trafford Faithful.
The Englishman seemingly wants a deal to happen, though Chelsea are not willing to let Mount move, to a Premier League rival no less, on the cheap.
United have to set themselves a limit that they will not exceed in pursuit of Mount. It seems like they’re at that point right now, hence, they’re now looking at other options.
Mohammed Kudus’ name has now been thrown into the mix by ESPN. We’ve been waiting for this one as it just makes sense.
According to the claim, United have enquired about the availability of signing the 22-year-old as a Mount alternative, although the offer for the Englishman remains on the table.
Although a small update, Kudus is a name that we’ve been fully expecting to be linked with an Old Trafford switch. Ten Hag has shown a preference to surround himself with familiarity, the man from Ghana would offer exactly that.
The midfielder enjoyed himself in the 2022/23 season, with his stock being high right now. It could be the perfect time for Ajax to sell while he has excellent value in the transfer market.
Kudus is someone who could move to United without having the pressure of starting every single week. He’d be allowed to adjust at his own pace, while dipping in and out of the side as and when needed, at least for the first few months.
Although not as well-rounded as Mount, this does feel like a transfer that could happen this summer.
