Mason Mount is set to sign a five-year deal at Man United, with his medical to take place after the weekend.
Manchester United agreed a deal to sign Mason Mount yesterday, with the Red Devils finally landing their man after many weeks of trying.
The Old Trafford club had a few offers for Mount initially knocked back, though in the end, a £55m deal, with an extra £5m available in add-ons, was agreed to.
Now, it’s about completing the minor details before we can see Mount holding that United shirt aloft.
Well, Fabrizio Romano has since provided some more details on the situation. Apparently, Mount will undergo his medical after the weekend. He’s currently on holiday, so the tests will wait until then.
A five-year contract is in place. In fact, it has been for ‘weeks’, with the £55m + £5m fee reiterated by the Italian journalist.
Honestly, I genuinely belive this will be an underrated piece of business. Mount is a top player and Chelsea fans are gutted to be losing the Englishman. That alone should give us that extra bit of confidence.
It’s also refreshing to see Ten Hag being delivered a top target in one of his positions of need. Mount is the man the club have been chasing hard as soon as the window opened. Credit has to go to the guys that have negotiated this deal.
Now this one is pretty much done and dusted, it also allows the club negotiators to start working on deals for other possible targets. A striker is an absolute must, while a goalkeeper may be another priority if David de Gea leaves upon the expiry of his contract.
