Both Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst have left Man United upon the expiry of their deals.
Changes are happening at Manchester United, as Erik ten Hag looks to overhaul this playing squad.
The gaffer is doing an excellent job so far, with the club needing to continue to back their man with the players he wants and needs.
This past campaign was simply a case of plugging the holes with some stop-gap solutions, like both Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer.
To their credit, the pair did a decent enough job when called upon. The lads put in the effort and that’s all we can ask given the fact that they were just short-term additions.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the duo will leave upon the expiry of their deals, heading back to their respective clubs.
Whether this means there’s no chance of making a bid for either of them remains to be seen. Both Weghorst and Sabitzer seemed to enjoy their time in Manchester. Both would probably want to come back.
Right now, I’d imagine the club are looking at other possible options with the long-term in mind, though if those targets aren’t available, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if bids are made – particularly for Sabitzer.
It’s all situational. I’d like tot think that united will deliver Ten Hag his top target, though under the Glazer regime, that’s far from a guarantee as it has been for the last two decades.
Both players certainly did their careers no harm with a successful few months in Manchester, that’s for sure.
For now, I’d like to thank both Weghorst and Sabizter for their service. Best of luck for the future, lads!
