Mason Mount will have his Man United medical today, before officially becoming a Man United player.
Manchester United Football Club have had eyes on Mason Mount for weeks now. Just before the weekend, a breakthrough was made.
Both United and Chelsea had reached an agreement on a deal worth £55m + £5m in add-ons and bonuses.
Erik ten Hag is seemingly a huge fan of the Englishman, who he has spent a lot of money on, despite Mount entering into the final year of his contract.
Well, Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed some big news for Manchester United and Mount.
According to the report, his medical tests will take place today, with a five-year deal set to be signed by the midfielder.
The 24-year-old is set to join United in the coming days, with a statement expected ‘this week’.
Check out Fabrizio Romano’s tweet on the situation here:
I understand the fact that United have paid an awful lot of money to sign Mount, though I genuinely believe he’ll be worth it.
This is an underrated player who Chelsea fans are absolutely gutted to lose. The Englishman has been the heartbeat of their team since breaking through into their side, while always turning up in big games.
United have needed some extra legs in midfield to compete in those matches against Manchester City, Liverpool and the likes. No doubt this is a direct upgrade for those high intensity football fixtures.
Thankfully, it does look as though the Reds will get this one over the line in time for Mount to play a full part in pre-season, which is obviously massive as he gets used to his new teammates.
