Man United target, Rasmus Hojlund, would love to join the club.
Manchester United are being linked with strikers aplenty during this window. It makes sense, given the drastic need to bring in a new elite level goal scorer this summer.
Harry Kane felt like the dream target, though that deal died pretty quickly. It’ll be intriguing to see where the Englishman ends up.
Another name that has been rumoured with a possible Old Trafford switch is Rasmus Hojlund. He’s on the other end of the age spectrum to Kane, with longevity the order of the day here.
The Atalanta forward enjoyed a pretty good Serie A campaign in 2022/23, with Europe’s big boys starting to take note.
United are among them, though no bid has been made as of yet. According to Fabrizio Romano, the news that United have made a €35m bid for Hojlund is wide of the mark, with the Serie A club possibly wanting double that.
The young striker is ‘high’ on United’s list, while the 20-year-old is ‘super keen’ on the move and he’d ‘love’ to join the Reds.
United have to be very wary here. When the Reds get involved, the price seems to shoot up drastically. I guess that’s down to the overpaying the club has done in the past. Ten Hag is looking to change that, though it will take time.
Signing someone like Hojlund would be a gamble. He’d likely need time to settle into life in Manchester, while he’ll also show the inconsistencies that youth brings.
The fact that United didn’t have a 20+ goal-a-season striker last season may still be there, at least for the next couple of years, if Hojlund is deemed the man for the job.
