Mason Mount has completed his Man United medical. We’re now just waiting on an official announcement.
Manchester United Football Club identified Mason Mount early as a possible signing. To their credit, the Old Trafford side have worked diligently on this transfer.
Erik ten Hag does not strike me as a manager who’ll settle and wait for things to happen. Instead, he’s proactive in every aspect, forcing the club into going out and delivering the signings he wants.
Well, the finishing touches on the Mount deal are now being worked on.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Mount has completed his medical. We’re now waiting on an announcement from United.
Mount is expected to say his ‘goodbye’ messages to Chelsea before being unveiled as a United player, becoming their first signing of the summer.
Honestly, this is an underrated piece of business being conducted. Mount is the perfect midfielder for Ten Hag’s midfield and I genuinely cannot wait to see him in action.
The fact that Chelsea supporters are absolutely devastated to be losing him should tell us everything we need to know. This guy can play at the highest level and I genuinely cannot wait to watch him produce the goods for United.
In a three alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, there’s such a good blend of tenacity, defensive workrate, on-ball ability and genuine skill. This is the trio I’d expect to see on a regular basis from here on out, assuming all are fit and ready to go.
This does represent a large chunk of the transfer budget, though it is absolutely being spent wisely. Mount is someone who’ll over longevity and a real determination to win football matches.
