Man United have confirmed the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea.
Manchester United finally have their man. After weeks of drawn-out negotiations, the Red Devils have come to an agreement with Chelsea over the signing of Mason Mount.
The Englishman underwent his medical tests on Monday, all of which were successful. Now, Mount is officially a Red Devil, with the club confirming the news with a catchy little video via their social media page.
Mount, who is expected to cost £55m + £5m in various add-ons on bonuses, will train with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday.
First and foremost, I’d like to say welcome to Mason, who is joining the biggest club in the country.
Secondly, I’d like to give credit to the club for getting this one done so early. I genuinely cannot remember the last time that United went out and delivered their manager one of his top targets before pre-season has started.
As for Mount, I’m genuinely excited to watch him play. He’ll bring an awful lot to the table and this is 100% an underrated piece of business.
The Englishman is good on both sides of the ball. He’s energetic, a hard worker and a keen learner. Dare I say he’s perfect for this Ten Hag system?
Chelsea being gutted to lose him tells the story. They’re now without one of their most important players, while directly strengthening a rival as a result. This certainly strengthens our hand in the race to finish inside the top four – for which they’ll be plenty of competition this season.
Welcome to the biggest club in the world, Mason!
