David de Gea’s future has been up in the air for several weeks now. Well, we now know that the Spaniard will leave. He has confirmed his exit from the club, with a heartfelt social media post to the fans.

You forget that David was a baby in footballing terms when he made the move to Manchester. It was a bold decision at the time, but it is certainly one that has paid off.
He leaves the club as a record breaker in many ways. We’ll forever be thankful for his incredible service, giving us so many positive memories that we’ll be able to look back on forever.
If we’re being honest, the time feels right. He was on an awful lot of money at United and now those wages have been freed up, with the club hoping to spend those elsewhere.
A new number one now has to be atop the agenda for the club, with Andre Onana’s name heavily linked with filling that void.
