Young goalkeeper, Matej Kovar, looks set for another loan move away from Man United this summer.
Manchester United Football Club are now out on their pre-season tour of the United States, ahead of the new season starting next month.
Erik ten Hag named a 31-strong travelling party for this leg of their pre-season, including plenty of young players who the gaffer truly believes in.
However, many fans were left with raised eyebrows when Dean Henderson, who is set to be sold, was included, while Matej Kovar, who looked impressive in the opening two games, was absent.
Well, BBC journalist Simon Stone has provided an update for us in that regard. He took to Twitter to confirm the latest on Kovar’s future.
According to the claim, United ‘expect’ a loan move for the 23-year-old this summer, hence, he’s not included in the travelling squad.
The Czech shot-stopper spent last season playing for Sparta Prague, where he’d win a league title. Now, another loan move looks to be on the horizon.
At this stage, we’re unsure as to where Kovar will head, though I’d like to assume he’ll be remaining in England. A Championship move, with regular playing time, would be the ideal scenario, though we’ll have to hold tight on that one.
Kovar looked superb during United’s first two pre-season friendlies. He was super comfortable with the ball at feet, while when called upon, he was more than good enough in the shot-stopping department.
Whether that game can be translated to serious, competitive matches, at the highest level, remains to be seen. That’s why this loan move is being sanctioned as right now, Kovar would probably be third or fourth choice in the pecking order here in Manchester.
