The first photo of Andre Onana holding his Man United shirt aloft has emerged.
For the second time this summer, Manchester United have their man. First, Mason Mount. Now, Andre Onana. The club have copped for a lot of stick recently. Most of it deserved. We should praise them for the good work they’ve done over the last month.
The Red Devils have delivered Erik ten Hag two of his biggest demands during the transfer window. The Dutchman’s squad is starting to take shape.
Onana, who worked with Ten Hag at Ajax, will completely transform the way this United side play the game. I’m super excited to see the man from Cameroon in action – preferably starting with our pre-season tour over the next few weeks.
Ahead of linking up with his new teammates, the first image of Onana holding his new United shirt aloft has emerged. The pictures were not part of the official announcement, presumably as they hadn’t happened at that point. The image comes from Fabrizio Romano.

I’m delighted with this transfer. Onana shows that United means business. They’re no longer clinging on to sentiment. Instead, they’re starting to move like a serious club again. That can only be viewed as a positive going forward.
Hopefully, Onana can get off to a good start and hit the ground running. He’s a confident lad so I don’t forsee any problems in that regard.
For the fans, it’s about getting behind their man. Yes, his style of play will bring mistakes, but the positivity of his overall game will far outweigh those poor decisions that’ll inevitably happen from time to time.
