Tom Heaton – Played his part. His distribution out from the back was excellent. Made a superb double save in the first half too. 7/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – He just loves tackling. Made some important sliding tackles to deny Arsenal some chances. Also bombed further up the field more often than we’re used to. 6/10
Raphael Varane – As cool and classy as ever. Wasn’t really tested down his side as he had everything locked up. 7/10
Lisandro Martinez – Took no prisoners from minute one. Made a crunching (but fair) tackle on Saka that earned him a yellow card. He was top tier. 7/10
Luke Shaw – Left one-on-one with Saka fairly often, but dealt with the threat well. Made some good runs forward. 7/10
Kobbie Mainoo – He’s too good for his age it’s scary. Bossed the battle against Declan Rice. Was the best midfielder on the pitch. 8/10
Mason Mount – Another solid display. He was good in transition. Worked hard. Created chances. 7/10
Bruno Fernandes – Scored the opener. Wore the captain’s armband with pride. Worked tirelessly and set the tone for United. 7/10
Antony – Had a couple of decent chances, particularly one early on but snatched at it. Worked hard on both sides of the ball. Looked decent. 6/10
Alejandro Garnacho – Probably United’s quietest starter on the day. Most of the attacking intent came down the other side. 5/10
Jadon Sancho – Took his goal well with a thumping finish. Looked confident. Led the line well. 7/10
Subs:
Brandon Williams – Did okay. Defended with diligence.
Victor Lindelof – As cool and calm as you’d expect. Good distribution out from the back. Defended firmly.
Harry Maguire – Pretty good. Won headers. Didn’t give Jesus any good opportunities when he came on.
Diogo Dalot – Steady. It was his first pre-season minutes and it was good to see him out there.
Casemiro – Cruised through the second half in classy fashion. Picked up exactly where he left off last season.
Christian Eriksen – Looked good. Played many teasing balls into the Arsenal box.
Scott McTominay – Covered every blade of grass. Made some really positive runs forward.
Amad – Unfortunately picked up a serious-looking injury shortly after coming on.
Omari Forson – Somewhat ineffective. Did get on the ball a few times but didn’t really capitalise.
Marcus Rashford – Worked hard enough but never really looked like scoring.
Facundo Pellistri – On for the injured Amad. Looked a threat down the right.
