Man United are among the many sides in the fight to sign Kylian Mbappe.
Manchester United Football Club have made two important signings this summer, though the work is not yet done.
The Red Devils still need that 20+ goal-a-season forward who can lead the line. Rasmus Hojlund and Harry Kane are the top targets right now. Though plans could be about to change…
Kylian Mbappe’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain is interesting. So-much-so that the Ligue 1 club have now made it their intention to sell the forward during this transfer window.
There’s a huge £259m bid on the table from Al Hilal over in Saudi Arabia, though PSG do not care where Mbappe ends up.
According to Sky Sports News, United are among the sides interested in signing the world-class 24-year-old – though there’s a huge list of clubs who’d be keen, including Chelsea, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.
This could (and should) absolutely have United thinking about making a move. However, if PSG are intent on selling to the highest bidder, then Mbappe will be heading to Saudi Arabia.
This is a truly unique scenario. Whatever happens, Mbappe will likely end up going for a world-record transfer fee and only a handful of clubs will be prepared to pay that.
There’s also FFP stipulations that these clubs will have to negotiate. United’s budget is already stretched so I’d be surprised if the Glazers can dig deep enough to bring in Mbappe. I guess they’ll consider it given the global brand that he’d bring to Manchester.
My honest opinion is that I’d be absolutely shocked if he ends up at the Theatre of Dreams. I just do not see him choosing Old Trafford, nor do I believe United will match the transfer fee and astronomical wage demands.
