Our predicted MUFC XI for the pre-season friendly vs Wrexham is now in.
Manchester United play two friendlies in a little over 24 hours over the next couple of days. As a result, Erik ten Hag will have to split up his squad. The senior lads will be saved for Real Madrid, while a youngster side will take on Wrexham.
Whether or not the gaffer will fly between the two venues remains to be seen. We’d imagine he will be there, leaving his coaches with the senior squad for Tuesday’s training session.
A predicted XI has been a tradition for every single game on Old Trafford Faithful, so we’re not going to stop now. We’ll hold our hands up when we’re wrong and at this point, we have no idea what the travelling party is going to look like, so this line-up could be well off the actual side that plays here.
Anyway, let’s get right into it.
Check out our predicted MUFC XI vs Wrexham in full here:
Matej Kovar is one player who’ll certainly feature here. The young shot-stopper impressed in the opening couple of games.
Spanish full-backs Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez have both looked good during their limited minutes at the first-team level. They deserve their chance here. Teden Mengi remains at the club. This will be a good opportunity for him, partnering Tyler Fredricson at the heart of defence.
The midfield is very attacking. Shola Shortire deserves some minutes and this will be a good test for him. Maxi Oydele impressed for Altrincham last term and I’m keen to see him in action more. Isak Hansen-Aaroen is another insane talent. He will start.
Joe Hugill will lead the line for this young reds side, with Omari Forson and Charlie McNeill on his right and left respectively. The wing isn’t the latter’s natural position, but he’s more than capable of playing out there.
