Manchester City ended their pre-season campaign with a defeat, after they were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid in Seoul, South Korea.
It would take over an hour for the first goal to come, with Memphis Depay capitalising on a mistake form City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, hammering a right footed strike into the left-corner of the net from just outside the penalty area.
Depay would be back again, less than ten minutes later to find Yannick Carrasco who would wind his way around several Man City defenders, before hammering the ball past Stefan Ortega in goal.
Ruben Dias would get one back for Pep Guardiola’s side, climbing high to head in Sergio Gomez’ corner on the 85th minute.
It was the only blemish to the Treble winner’s successful pre-season tour, with Pep Guardiola’s side now set to take on Arsenal in the FA Community Shield on Sunday.

Manchester City (4-1-3-2)
Ederson – 7
One big save to thwart Thomas Lemar from opening the scoring.
Kyle Walker – 7
It’ll be strange if Walker does leave over the next few weeks, always so key to the way City play.
John Stones – 7
Not asked to step into midfield as much, which took some adjusting. Defended solidly when following Alvaro Morata.
Ruben Dias – 6.5
A little bit leggy when Atletico broke at pace. Antoine Griezmann made it difficult; scored with a late header.
Aymeric Laporte – 6
Often a free man as Atletico sat in and countered. Might’ve used the ball slightly better.
Rodri – 6
On his own holding midfield and moved possession with his usual crispness despite the conditions.
Phil Foden – 7
Looks ready to score lots of goals this season. Off the right but allowed to roam, improving all the time.
Bernardo Silva – 7
Grittier display as he made sure to give some back to Atletico, who were aggressive from the off.
Jack Grealish – 7
Cesar Azpilicueta flew into tackles, and was booked early, as Grealish was given a taste of what is to come in the Premier League.
Julian Alvarez – 6
A freer role than normal up with Erling Haaland. Came in and acted as auxiliary midfielder and links play nicely.
Erling Haaland – 7
Menacing runs and was close to creating some decent chances for himself against a stubborn backline.

Substitutes
Stefan Ortega (for Ederson, 46) – 6
Nothing he could have done with either goal and made one decent stop.
Joao Cancelo (for Walker, 55) – 6
Got forward well but linking up with the youthful attackers proved tricky.
Manuel Akanji (for Laporte, 55) – 5.5
Struggled when he came on and probably will not start the Community Shield next week.
Sergio Gomez (for Grealish, 55) – 7
Some decent touches, as with the previous friendlies, out on the left wing – his preferred position.
Kalvin Phillips (pictured) conceded the error that lead to Depay’s opening goal in the game
Mateo Kovacic (for Silva, 55) – 6.5
One really strong run through midfield late on offered a glimpse at what is to come.
Rico Lewis (for Rodri, 55) – 6
Industrious and at the heart of the action. May feel he was a little too rushed on the ball at times.
Oscar Bobb (for Haaland, 55) – 6
A quiet cameo for the Norwegian but he has impressed Guardiola during the tour.
James McAtee (for Foden, 55) – 6
Like Lewis, never seems far away from what is going on. Might have scored minutes after coming on.
Kalvin Phillips (for Stones, 55) – 5.5
Mistake contributed to the first Atletico goal, scored by Memphis Depay. Sprayed a few nice passes.
