Currently, it is difficult to look past City. Not only have they proven that they can do it, even under less-than ideal circumstances, but they also have the only head coach in the Premier League who has treble experience – Pep Guardiola.
The Spaniard won the treble with Barcelona back in 2009, when the Catalonian giants picked up the the La Liga title, the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League.
Not only this, few clubs can compete with City’s financial muscle – only teams such as Newcastle United can hold a candle to the Sky Blues’ monetary might.
Moreover, City have had several years to establish themselves as a global behemoth. Newcastle’s takeover is still less than two years old – they still have plenty of work to do before they can match City.
