Amad has been hit with an injury problem and he’ll now stay at Man United, rather than heading out on loan.
Manchester United’s pre-season has been disrupted by injury. Anthony Martial still hasn’t featured, while Kobbie Mainoo has joined him on the sidelines. Both Alejandro Garnacho and Raphael Varane have both been dealing with issues, too.
Another player who has limped out of a game over the summer is Amad. He’d suffer a knee problem in the early games, which left us all worried as those types of injuries can be super serious.
Well now, The Athletic have given us an update on Amad. The 21-year-old United man is set to miss the first part of the season with injury.
As a result, he will not go out on loan and instead, he will stay at United.
Amad was attracting loan interest aplenty, with Serie A clubs looking to bring in the winger on a short-term deal. That transfer is now dead in the water.
The Athletic haven’t placed a set timeframe on when to expect Amad back. It could be weeks, it could be months. Though one thing is for sure. He is not expected to be fit until the transfer window shuts at the end of this month, so he’s sidelined for at least four weeks.
This is a massive shame for the player. I’m always worried when pre-season doesn’t go to plan as it can severely disrupt the individual for the whole campaign as. Amad is no different.
There’s also a problem when he returns. Will he be able to force his way into the team and play regularly? I’m not so sure.
Don’t be surprised to see Amad head out when January rolls around.
