Man United are all set to unveil Rasmus Hojlund as their latest signing before the Lens game on Saturday.
We’ve probably said it a hundred times at this point, but Manchester United’s biggest need going into this window was a new striker. The Old Trafford club let Cristiano Ronaldo leave, replacing him with Wout Wehgorst in the short-term. Anthony Martial simply cannot be trusted, either.
Rasmus Hojlund’s name popped up pretty early on in summer proceedings. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t a name I was familiar with, though you just have to watch him play to see that his talent is immense.
Fabrizio Romano has been well on top of this story from the get-go and now, the journalist has another big update for us. He took to Twitter to share his latest.
According to the story, Hojlund’s United contract has been signed by the player last night, with just some minor details seemingly left to sort out today.
On top of that, United ‘plan to unveil’ their latest signing before Saturday’s friendly vs Lens. No doubt this will gee up the crowd before the first game of the season at Old Trafford.
I love this deal. Hojlund is a United fan and it always makes it that little bit extra special when that’s the case.
The Dane will need time to settle into his new surroundings, which makes it less than ideal that he’s not going to have played a single minute of football with his new teammates before the serious stuff starts next week.
As fans, we have to be patient. Hojlund is still so young and raw as a footballer, so we need to remember that and give him all the time he needs to develop.
No doubt they’ll be highs and lows for Hojlund during this debut season. Let’s just make sure we have his back at all times.
