Man United target, Sofyan Amrabat, will not play for his club this week, after being dropped from the Fiorentina squad.
Manchester United have had a 7/10 transfer window so far. Three big needs have been filled, though there are still plenty of improvements that can be made. First and foremost, selling on some dead wood could help, while replacing them with genuine quality would move the Reds forward.
That’s easier said than done, of course, particularly when money is tight for the Old Trafford side. They’re in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy. The likes of Fred and Donny van de Beek remain up for grabs.
One player who could fill the void left by the aforementioned duo is Sofyan Amrabat. The man from Morocco has been heavily linked with a Reds switch this summer, as Erik Ten Hag looks to make another reunion happen.
Fabrizio Romano has provided the latest information on that front, and it seems significant. According to the Italian, the United target is ‘not called up’ for Fiorentina’s next game, hinting that a transfer could be moving forward.
Again, it’s reiterated that Amrabat ‘wants’ a Reds switch this summer, while the club will open ‘formal talks’ when either Fred and Van de Beek are close to departing.

It’s encouraging that United are now pressing on with another key signing. This is absolutely what United have to do if they’re to get themselves in amongst the big boys this coming season.
It’s not just about a strong starting line-up. You need that extra bit of depth when players need a rest or are injured. You look at the drop-off when Casemiro can’t play and Scott McTominay has to fill in. No disrespect to the latter, I like him a lot, but the gap is huge.
That situation rings true in many positions for United and it will take time to fix all those holes. Amrabat would be a good start.
