Our confirmed MUFC XI for the penultimate pre-season tour game vs Lens is now in.
Manchester United make their Old Trafford return today. The Red Devils play their penultimate friendly match before the serious stuff starts in just nine days. Erik ten Hag was always going to go strong here, in front of the Theatre of Dreams crowd.
Again, it’s not so much about the end result. More about the overall performance. I’d be happy to lose this game if Ten Hag learns a thing or two about his squad.
The French side will come to Manchester looking to upset the applecart. This is Andre Onana’s and Mason Mount’s first minutes at their new home, while Rasmus Hojlund is also expected to be in attendance. They’ll be keen to impress.
Anyway, the team news is now in, so let’s get right into the all-important line-ups and give you the full run-through.
Check out our confirmed MUFC XI vs Lens in full here:
Andre Onana starts in between the sticks, with the man from Cameroon looking to impress his new fans.
Diogo Dalot plays at right-back, with the Portugal international still not guaranteed his starting spot for when the serious stuff starts. Over on the left, Luke Shaw gets the nod. Raphael Varane partners Lisandro Martinez at centre-half.
Casemiro needs the minutes under his belt, with the Brazil international looking to kick on after a stunning debut season at United. Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes make up the midfield trio.
It looks like Marcus Rashford leads the line for Ten Hag’s squad here. He’ll see Alejandro Garnacho on his left and Antony on his right.
Come on Reds!
