Just like that, pre-season is almost over for another year. Manchester United have one game left, against Athletic Club in Ireland.
Erik ten Hag’s side will be significantly weakened for this one, purely due to the fact that the senior squad played less than 24 hours ago.
Obviously, that’s less than ideal for the passionate Irish fans who love their Red Devils, but that said, they’ll get a great glimpse into the future with this United team jam-packed with youth.
Athletic Club will prove to be a tough opponent. Make no mistake about that. United will have to be at their best to earn any sort of positive result here, albeit a game predominantly about building more match fitness. Anyway, let’s get right into the all-important team news.

Matej Kovar will start in between the sticks, with the young man looking to prove his worth amid transfer rumours.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will have one final chance to impress ahead of next week’s season opener, while Alvaro Fernandez will play in the left-back position. Jonny Evans plays yet again. This time alongside Harry Maguire.
Christian Eriksen will start here in midfield, looking to usurp Mason Mount from the starting line-up. He’ll play alongside Hannibal, with Donny van de Beek getting the nod slightly further up the field.
The front three is pure youth. Joe Hugill has looked good this summer so he’ll get another chance. To his right and left respectively is Noam Emeran and Omari Forson. Both have looked sharp. Both probably need a loan move away.
