Tom Heaton – Honestly didn’t have a save of note to make. United’s defence did their job other than that goal, which he could do nothing about. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made one or two of his trademark tackles. As is always his downfall, the play in the final third wasn’t good enough. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Played a bad ball for the Athletic Club opener which got his team into trouble. Defended well, just didn’t look confident in possession. Won the vital header late on for United to grab a draw. 4/10
Victor Lindelof – Had a steady game in truth. The Swede looked comfortable throughout this one. 6/10
Alvaro Fernandez – Impressive. Good with the ball at his feet. Showed great intensity on both sides of the ball. Looks promising. 6/10
Dan Gore – Kept things ticking over in midfield. Played the simple ball to keep United in possession. 5/10
Christian Eriksen – Didn’t really threaten with his penetrative passing. Had a free-kick in the second half that went somewhat close. 5/10
Donny Van de Beek – Linked up nicely with Sancho on a couple of occasions, though that final ball or piece of movement was lacking. 5/10
Omari Forson – A bystander for the most part as the attacking threat came down the other flank. 5/10
Facundo Pellistri – Looked lively. Worked hard in the pressing game and was always willing to have a go at his opposing full-back. Forced an Athletic Club defender to be sent off after some positive play. Finished nicely late on. 6/10
Jadon Sancho – Looked confident in that false nine spot. Displayed some nice touches and moves. 6/10
Subs:
Hannibal – Looked busy. Always tried to make things happen.
Jonny Evans – Was given a cracking cheer by the Irish crowd. Defended well enough.
Joe Hugill – Held the ball up well during his limited minutes.
Noam Emeran – Made a couple of positive runs forward.
