Anthony Martial wants a sit down with the club to discuss his future after the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund.
Manchester United Football Club have made three signings this summer. All of whom will be hoping to play their part during a successful season.
Erik ten Hag is moving this club in the right direction, there’s no doubt about that. Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund represent a large outlay in terms of cost.
The Dane is going to be unavailable in the short-term due to an ongoing injury problem, though his arrival could be causing unrest for another player; Anthony Martial.
It’s The Sun with the story. According to their report, the French player is ‘planning talks’ with the club over his future, following the arrival of new signing, Hojlund.
Both Inter and Fenerbahce have apparently shown an interest in signing Martial, while a move away now ‘looks likely’.
Sometimes I think Martial just doesn’t help himself. The attacker has been injured for large portions of the last year, which is proving to be a real problem. He’s still not match fit now and he’s out here trying to get assurances from the club?
The problem is that I still think United have no choice but to keep him around. Martial is the second choice striker when everyone is fit and the club cannot afford to go down to just one striker.
In the situation where United could find an adequate replacement, then this is a deal I would sanction. For all his natural ability, Martial just hasn’t fulfilled that potential, particularly over the last few years.
