Top class starlet, Ansu Fati, is choosing to leave FC Barcelona, with Man United among the sides interested in a move.
Manchester United are still looking to improve their playing squad this summer, though it’s easier said than done given the struggles in the selling department.
Several names continue to be linked with an Old Trafford switch. Today, a familiar name has been thrown into the mix once again; Ansu Fati.
The FC Barcelona starlet is an elite young footballer, though he’s not that happy at the Camp Nou right now.
According to the Daily Mail‘s headline, United are among the sides on ‘red alert’, as the to-class 20-year-old is choosing to leave his current club. Arsenal and Tottenham are also credited with interest.
The Mail quote AS Sport, stating that Ansu Fati believes he’s not trusted by current Barca manager, Xavi, demonstrated by the fact he wasn’t subbed on till late in their most recent game.
Now, United’s name has been mentioned by the English media outlet, due to prior interest in the winger from the Red Devils.
It goes without saying that this would be a superb piece of business if United were capable of pulling it off. However, I have my doubts and I do not believe this is fresh information. More, you get the impression that the Mail could be rehashing old claims.
The verdict
Let’s imagine this news is fresh. Where will United find the money from? Funds are already tight and suddenly they’re going to have enough cash to buy a supremely talented 20-year-old who is tied down due to the fact he has four years left on contract?
Interest is all well and good. I just do not see this happening.
