Facundo Pellistri may well be about to depart Man United for another Premier League club, though it’s not clear whether it’d be permanent or on loan.
Manchester United Football Club didn’t look great on Monday night against Wolves, which could explain why Erik ten Hag is still looking to make moves in the transfer market. Things are looking bleak in that regard right now, due to a lack of movement in terms of player sales.
One man whose future may lie away from Old Trafford is Facundo Pellistri. I must admit, it was surprising to see the young man from Uruguay linked with an exit from the club this summer.
Journalist Fabian Bertolini has provided the update in that regard. According to his sources, the 21-year-old starlet ‘could leave’ Man United in the next ‘few days’. However, he’d stay in the Premier League…
Apparently, his agent and United are working together to secure Pellistri a transfer to another top-flight English club, though it’s unclear whether it’d be a permanent deal or a loan.
Personally, I’d hope for a short-term move away for Pellistri. He needs that regular playing time and United cannot offer him that right now. If the man from Uruguay remained here, he’d have to settle for minutes off the substitutes bench.
The talent is quite obviously there and I’d hate to see Pellistri permanently transfer to another Premier League club. He’s still so young, while continuing to learn his trade. We have seen glimpses of his ability, skill and threat. Patience is absolutely required here.
A loan to a club like Bournemouth, Everton, or maybe even Wolves would make plenty of sense.
