Man United have taken a 20-man travelling party down South for the Premier League away game vs Spurs.
Manchester United were pretty poor at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday Night Football. I’d politely suggest the performance gave us more questions than answers. Quite frankly, Erik ten Hag’s men were very fortunate to escape with all three points.
No doubt training has been extra tough as a result. The gaffer prides himself on work ethic and togetherness. Neither of that was on display, so the lads will be rectifying that in training this week, looking to put in a statement performance tonight.
Tottenham Hotspur will not be an easy game. Make no mistake about it. They’ve improved tremendously themselves over the summer.
Ahead of the game, the Manchester Evening News have named the 20-man travelling squad for the match, with one notable absence in the form of Harry Maguire.
They state that Maguire was absent at Stockport Station on Friday afternoon, as the reds boarded the train to head down South for this massive clash.
There was some better news on Lisandro Martinez, who was involved in the squad after his return to training on Thursday.
Confirmed squad members via MEN: Onana, Henderson, Vitek, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, McTominay, Mount, Eriksen, Fernandes, Pellistri, Antony, Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho, Martial.
The rest of the squad is pretty much as you’d expect. The likes of Facundo Pellistri, Alejandro Garnacho and Scott McTominay all remain. While it’s nice to see Radek Vitek named as the third-choice keeper for this clash.
Maguire’s absence is likely to be injury related, though I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a transfer. Ten Hag has made it pretty clear that the Englishman will have to work hard to force his way into the team. I’d argue he’s the fifth choice centre-half as things stand, so I’m not quite sure what happens from here on out.
