Man United were well-beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur this evening, with the Red Devils struggling all across the pitch.
Andre Onana – Looked like the only player in United colours vaguely interested. His passing is outrageous. Made some good saves, too. 8/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Ineffective in the final third. Looked up for the fight in the first half but faded. Subbed. 5/10
Raphael Varane – Wasn’t necessarily at fault for any of the Spurs goals. Was largely a bystander here. Did his job decently enough. 5/10
Lisandro Martinez – Had a decent first 45 minutes, but struggled in the second half. Needlessly tapped the ball into his own net to give Spurs their second. 4/10
Luke Shaw – Did not cover himself in glory. Didn’t get into any threatening positions while defensively, he was all over the place. 3/10
Casemiro – I feel a little sorry for him as he was not helped by his midfield partners. Often left exposed which makes him look like the problem. He isn’t. 5/10
Mason Mount – Had a better game here as he looked more disciplined. Still, though, you worry about the stylistic fit. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – Hit and miss. Was careless in possession on some occasions, though in other situations he carved out some excellent opportunities. Should have scored. 5/10
Antony – Hit the post in the second 45, though him being so one-footed is now becoming a real problem. 4/10
Alejandro Garnacho – Showed intent and belief, though often made the wrong decision. 5/10
Marcus Rashford – Just not good enough to play striker for United. He needs to be out wide. 3/10
Subs:
Jadon Sancho – Injected a little bit of urgency.
Diogo Dalot – Didn’t really help the situation.
Christian Eriksen – Not involved all too much.
Facundo Pellistri – Looked lively.
Anthony Martial – Not enough time to mark.
